In August 1992, two men from Edinburgh — Garry Wood and Colin Wright — experienced something extraordinary on a remote stretch of road in West Lothian, Scotland.
While driving along the A70 towards the village of Tarbrax, they encountered a silent, disc-shaped object hovering above the road. As they attempted to pass beneath it, a blinding flash of light engulfed their car. The next thing they knew, they were further down the road — but over 90 minutes had vanished.
Shaken and disoriented, the pair later underwent regression hypnosis, revealing memories of being taken aboard a strange craft. They described cold, metallic corridors, small grey-skinned humanoids, and a taller figure who seemed to oversee the events. Though the procedure they endured appeared clinical rather than cruel, they were left deeply disturbed.
Physical marks, vehicle malfunctions, and other local reports of strange lights supported their story. UFO investigator Malcolm Robinson, who documented the case extensively, called it “one of the most credible abduction accounts in British history.”
Decades later, the A70 Abduction remains unsolved — a chilling reminder that sometimes, the most inexplicable things happen in the most ordinary places.
